The return of the pipers who played for us last year was met
with natural caution but we all soon warmed to them, "there is nothing like a
dram to soothe the pipes". |
It may have come a day or two
later than the "official" Burns night but Pudsey's own version was well worth
waiting for. Masterminded as on previous occasions
by our President Elect, Robert V. Key, the evening went without a hitch (not bad for a
sassenach). |

When the time came to address the Haggis, the task fell upon the broad
shoulders of one of our newer members Rtn David Robbins. David has openly admitted to
thespian tendencies and these were clearly evident in his performance. Here he is shown
preparing for the address like a true Scot, by locking up his wallet pocket. Our Vice President, Rtn Keith Thompson, treated us to a enlightening
and witty insight on "Burns the man " and was aided in his presentation by Mary
Johnson-Green who it appears was the only true 100% Scot in the room (subject to a sporran
check).
