Charter Anniversary Dinner
29th Nov 2001

  .
It is always a special occasion each year, but the 49th Charter Anniversary Dinner on 29th November had greater significance this time for Pudsey Rotarians and their guests.

The demise of our President Elect Rod Keighley in September after a short illness had left us all in the dumps, but our Club Service team decided that the event would honour him rather than reflect our sadness. Rod's widow Catherine and her son Philip and his wife Gillian felt able to accept our invitation to be our special guests and we also opened the invitation to other non Rotarian ladies.

It turned out to be one of our most enjoyable anniversary dinners, with over 90 Rotarians and guests, including twenty ladies, and ...... clubs represented.

Our Master of Ceremonies, past president Derek Rhodes, pictured here (with spec's), kept the evening flowing efficiently and with wit and the speeches from President Ian Featherstone, President Elect Chris Johnson-Green, and District Governor Roy Watson were relevant and brief.
